High-power isolated DC-DC charger for alternator-to-service-battery charging in commercial vehicles, trucks, and fleet installations.
The Victron Orion XS provides fully isolated DC-DC charging from a vehicle alternator to a secondary battery bank, supporting lithium-ion, AGM, gel, and flooded chemistries with an adaptive multi-stage charge algorithm. The 12V/50A model delivers 700W, while the 24V dual-output model provides 1,400W of charge power — sufficient for rapid replenishment of large service batteries during drive time.
A programmable engine-detect function automatically starts and stops charging based on alternator voltage, eliminating the need for a physical ignition signal wire in most installations. Bluetooth and VE.Direct communication enable monitoring through VictronConnect and integration with GX devices for fleet-wide visibility. The IP43-rated enclosure and -40°C to +60°C operating range make it suitable for underhood, engine-bay, and chassis-mount installations.
